The bond between father and son was truly different from the bond between mother and son. Serenity was honestly surprised at the amount of curiosity between the two of them, it was strange but it almost made her feel as if she had two children flooding the link and it almost made her laugh. She had experienced the rage and anger that their child was capable of and she couldn’t help but wonder if their son would share in some of her darker tendencies. She knew there would be no doubt that he would be a looker. Serenity was a vain woman and she knew very well the power of looks. Dylan being as handsome as he was there was no doubt that their son would have looks as well as brains working in his favor, but Serenity couldn’t help but wonder about what would lurk behind those looks. Would he be seemingly easy going like Dylan or prim and proper like Serenity. A small ripple of warning from the babe caused her to close her thoughts off a bit more. No sense and raising Dylan’s curiosity about her thoughts, at least not until the babe was born anyway.
A faint purr escaped from Serenity and she was mildly surprised at herself for allowing it to escape in public, but the man next her just made her so happy that she felt no need to contain it and she quickly found herself laughing out right at the un-amused wave of emotion that she got from mentioning the baby boy in a dress. “Come now I think he would be absolutely adorable with a pretty pink bow and all.” She said with small laugh, while covering her mouth with the back of her hand. She didn’t do it to hide the smile, but her fangs had been appearing at the more annoying times and she knew it was all to do with the little one and his constant demand to be fed. She then grimaced a bit after a small swift kick to her insides was given. “I think someone agrees that girl’s clothes are out.” She said with another small laugh.
“Noted, no Althazar.” She said with a laugh at the face Dylan made. “Honestly you two seem to have no faith in my name choosing!” She said in mock anger. She honestly had not desire to name the babe that but had been having a hard time getting him to focus as he had been busy trying to reach Dylan when she was trying to think of a name for him. “Nicolae, he was one of the earliest Dracula’s and one of the more influential, he did a great deal for my grandfather’s people during his reign, and was said to be very wise and a bit cunning. I thought it fitting for a babe mixed of the two of us.” She explained. One of the first things she had learned when she was able to read was all about her family history; her grandfather was very big on it and insisted that Serenity learn it all, just as his children had. “He knew your name was Dylan, so I think that is why he warmed to Dilon so quickly.” She said with a small nod. She then eyed Dylan for a moment and raised a brow. “There is something else on your mind.” She pressed a bit. She was sure he was probably thinking about their jobs, just as she was.
Serenity simply smiled at Dylan before slipping her own mask on as the two entered into the ballroom. She looked around noticing a few students from each house, but was surprised to note that there were no other staff members present yet. “Tell me love, doesn’t it seem odd to you that I am the first staff member to arrive?” She asked raising a brow as she glanced around the room.

Dylan nodded; fascinated by the bit of history she was sharing. His constant thirst for knowledge made him tempted to go research her family even more, but he was having fun getting her to share it with him on her own. Dylan was more than capable of going off and digging up even the most buried resources on her family, but it was a greater challenge to slip it into normal conversation. Pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead, he let his hand rest upon her stomach. "I think Nicolae is perfect, love." He grinned at her, wondering if their son would be more like him and hide the duality that lingered within his soul, or let it show clearly as Serenity did. Sometimes he wondered if Serenity recognized the darkness within him, or if all she saw was the young man his mother had raised.
It was true that Dylan tended to be more outwardly gentle, but his upbringing ensured a dark tendency he rarely showed unless it was needed. He hoped their child would be mix of them both, seeing as he loved Serenity's fiery temper as much as the loving purr he could draw from her. Letting his gaze slid from her eyes to where his hand rested on her stomach, he frowned a bit. "I was just thinking about what we were going to do when he arrived. The term won't be over then, obviously. And neither of us are in a position to just leave, I wouldn't even be here if the school hadn't been in need of a professor." A soft smile crossed his features, his gaze rising to hers again. "I know that we will make it work, I would do anything for our son." He had a feeling she had probably already been thinking the same thoughts he was.
Looking around, he frowned. "It is a bit odd. I wonder where they all are. It is not like we are early either, love. Though we would have been if someone didn't need to be introduced to me." He winked at her, the gentle teasing completely innocent. It was the best surprise he had ever had, the start of what was promising to be quite the night. He lifted her hand to his mouth, lightly kissing it. "Disappointed, love?" Grinning, he led her toward the dance floor. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he timed the music and moved in perfect synchronization with it. All those ridiculous lessons with his mother were finally paying off, even if she had needed bribe him with the promise of a rare book. Dylan had always been as active as he had been studious, so getting him to remain in one place for long as a child had been quite the task.
Leaning his head forward a bit, he cradled Serenity's form to his own, sinking into the bond between the three of them. How he had missed the signs was beyond him. The fact that she had been concealing the pregnancy should have been noticeable to the curse-breaker who had been trained to notice the slightest changes in magic. Of course, given that the whole castle was practically drowning in magic, it was hard to tell exactly what magic was supposed to be there and what had been added. "Have you told your daughter yet?" He was curious how the girl would react, given that the new baby was another man's child. "Or any of your family for that matter." He added, his mind turning to the rest of the clan. He had mostly stayed away from them, not wanting to cause problems for Serenity by making it known that they were ignoring the clan laws.

((ooc: I'mma post this old Robin post since she's dead... again now XD, we'll say she died shortly after all this, unless she eventually decides to come to this site. So this will be a two post post the first part is her's and the second part mine.))
Robin rolled out of her bed with a sigh before wandering to the showers and standing there for at least a good hour, simply letting the hot water beat down on her, trying to wake herself up. She couldn’t imagine why she was tired, she supposed in some way the news her mother had sprung on her had been a bit of w wrench in her plans. She’d been hoping that things had become more solid between her parents while she had been “gone” though that didn’t seem to be the case. Robin sighed as she grabbed her towel and headed back to her room to get ready for the ball. Opening her closet she eyed the dress and mask hanging there for a moment before pulling the out and throwing them on her bed.
The dress came to just above her knees with a good amount of black netted material that caused the dress to puff a bit. The dress itself was pink a choice that had surprised her, but she had simply found it cute and it’s cut flattering to her body. The dress was completed by pinkish-red heels and the mask she wore had been a surprise gift from Serenity, though how the woman had known her dress was pink, Robin didn’t even want to venture a guess. Bushing her head out she allowed her thoughts to turn back to their previous path and simply couldn’t believe her mother was going to have another baby.
Not just any baby though, her fledglings! It wasn’t completely unheard of and after a talk with her grandfather she was rather surprised by how common it actually seemed to be among their kind. She learned something new everyday it seemed. Standing up slowly she carried her mask as she left the room and calmly headed out of the common room. So Dylan Selwyn was the man her mother had turned years ago. Robin had heard mention of a fledging, but she’d never heard a name mentioned. She often wondered why that was, but she still didn’t know the answer to that question.
Making her way up the winding stairs from the dungeons she entered into the ballroom to see her rather pregnant mother dancing with Dylan. She heard bits of the conversation from the two of them but as she heard mention of Serenity’s daughter, well she simply had to speak up now didn’t she? “Tell me that she’s planning on giving me a sibling?” Robin asked her slightly off pitch voice ringing out lightly over the music as she approached the dancing couple. It pained Robin a bit to see Serenity acting so lovingly with a man not her father, but she had known since she was small that her parents were the sort of people that seemed to have trouble settling down, though seeing these two together was starting to make her wonder. “Mother saw fit to spring that little bit of information on me the other evening.” Robin said with her small child like laugh escaping from her. “Now I don’t believe we’ve properly met yet..” Robin said slowly while extending her hand to the man. “Robin Selen Dracula-Desmoulins.” She said with a small, yet slightly crooked smile, seeming almost like her face wasn’t use to the motion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serenity smiled at Dylan as he commented on the name. She was no fool she knew there was more the Dylan then what met the eye, but that was his choice to show to her was he would. Just as it was hers to share her dark side with him, but she couldn’t help but wonder how much their darkness had been projected into their son. Slowly though she pulled herself out of the musings that were plaguing her. Now was not the time to be thinking on such thoughts. Now was a happy occasion of the two of them and she wouldn’t be allowing her brooding to ruin it. There would be plenty of time for reflection after the babe was born.
At the small frown the graced Dylan’s face Serenity patted the hand that rested on her belly lightly. “You’re right it won’t be, but as long as we keep him well fed and in dark areas it should be all right.” She said with a small smile. “Babies skin is more sensitive to sunlight then those that are full grown, in the sun to long and we could lose him.” Serenity said with a warning tone. “I was sensitive until I turned twelve, were as Robin was only sensitive until she was four. I imagine it will be much the same for this little one.” She said with a small laugh as she felt the baby move around.
Smiling at Dylan once again Serenity shook her head slightly. “Disappointed at getting to keep you to myself a bit longer?” She asked with a small laugh. “Never.” Slowly Serenity felt herself getting lost to the sway of the music and it was moments like these that Serenity wondered what it would be like to hear a heartbeat, but like herself Dylan didn’t have one, but she was used to the silence and simply enjoyed the feeling of Dylan slipping into the shared bond. At the question Serenity opened her mouth to answer but found it cut off by another voice. “Robin.” Serenity murmured out softly before stepping away from Dylan for a moment to reach for Robin and to place a gentle kiss on her cheek. “You do indeed look lovely my dear.” Serenity said looking her first born over carefully.
Serenity was pleased to see the ease with which Robin handled talking to Dylan, though through the link that they still shared at mother and child she could sense Robin’s faint pain at the fact that she was with another. Seeing as Robin had probably had some idea that Serenity had spoken to Vlad she went ahead and answered the question before her daughter could. “The family knows.” She said meaning the Dracula Clan. “It is tradition that the Clan Elder know before anyone else, so Grandfather was the first. It’s why I knew he would cause no problems for us, though it isn’t likely you’ll meet him until the little one is born.” She explained. It was rare indeed when Vlad left the castle these days which was a clear sign to Serenity that he may be stepping down soon or at least toying with idea. “Erik knows as well, not that I meant for him to find out, and I can’t say that he was too happy with the information.” Serenity muttered out with a small frown remembering all too clearly the night she had told Erik. “Interesting conversation that was.”
Serenity blocked off all the links she shared as the memory crept into her mind. It was not one the babe needed to relive, nor was it one Robin need of her father or one that Dylan needed of a man he’d never met. As she pushed the memory back in her mind she glanced towards her daughter with a small smile. “Now Robin don’t tell me you came alone this evening.”
((ooc: And I'm posting this old "Draco Malfoy" post since he doesn't exist... I guess he can be random dude #4? So this will be a two post post the first part is his and the second part mine.))
Draco stood alone in his bedroom, he eyed the empty room as he turned to face himself in the mirror once more. The dark black tuxedo he had purchase specially for this evening adorned his body, the black demonic looking mask he had specially crafted by the finest English mask makers rested comfortably upon his face. Smiling to himself, he combed a hand through his hair, before grabbing his wand off the dresser and grabbing the cane that served him as a holster, sliding the wand slowly into the cane base when it clicked he turned the snake head so the emerald eyes were staring into his.
A perfect replica of the one his father used, it was a graduation present he received when he left Hogwarts. Tapping it solidly on the ground, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom and down to the entry hall of the Manor. "Keegan!" As the little house elf popped into the room and sat there looking at the floor, Draco could not help but feel disgust for the contemptible creature. "Make sure no one comes in unless it's Master Scorpius or Mistress Astoria, keep the manor clean and don't be up too late!" As the words left his mouth, he brought the cane around and hard against the side of the house elves skull.
Turning on his heel, he disappeared and appeared just outside of the Anti-Apparition Charm that protected Hogwarts. Slowly making his way towards the school and finally onto the grounds, he stopped to look around. Things looked differently when you were no longer a student, yet he remembered his days here mostly with fondness, except when that filthy Potter was around. Sneering he continued into the castle and stopped just inside the entrance hall, looking around he slowly walked into the ballroom and spotted the lovely young Robin. Draco couldn't complain too much when Serenity had asked him to come to the ball as Robin's date, the seventeen year old girl was every bit as lovely as her mother.
Walking over to Robin, Serenity and what looked to be a Professor he vaguely heard Serenity ask if Robin had come alone. Chuckling he wrapped his arm around Robin's waist and pulled her closer to him, "Now Serenity, do you truly believe I would leave such a lovely little dove alone at such a fine ball?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dylan smiled softly at her words, enjoying just getting to hold Serenity in his arms. It was a bit strange to be doing so in public, especially after all they had done to ensure their little relationship was kept a secret. His expression darkened at the thought of losing his son, a dark glint flashing in his normally gentle green eyes as protectiveness flared within him. If anything happened to his child, heaven help the fool responsible. "I shall ensure all windows in the castle are properly charmed to provide protection. I believe I can tweak the charm so it will be powerful enough to keep him safe." Already his mind was racing with the slight changes he could make to the difficult charm. There was little he could do about the rest of the world, but at least Hogwarts would be safe for their son.
Dylan's gaze was pulled to a dark haired young woman headed in their direction. Coming to a stop, he gave the vampire a smile in greeting. He wasn't surprised she had heard his question, and was interested to meet Serenity's daughter. Letting Serenity slip from his arms, he reached out and took Robin's hand. "Dylan Cole Selwyn, it a pleasure to meet you." Deep green eyes locked onto her features, silently informing her that she didn't have to like him, just his son. Dylan knew it couldn't be easy for her to see her mother with someone other than her father, but he hoped she would still be a part of his son's life despite their differing fathers. It would be helpful for the boy to have a sibling to help him along the way. Plus he knew Serenity was deeply attached to her daughter.
His gaze switched to Serenity, his arm slipping around her waist as he nodded at her. He figured Vlad already knew, since she had been so gleefully adamant that the older vampire was no threat to either of them. A frown crossed his face at the mention of Erik, his eyes narrowing as she drew away from the link. His son was strong, but not strong enough to block his father from the emotions the babe felt at the mention of Erik's name. Especially with their bond so new, it was strong and Dylan didn't like the fear coming from his child. Placing a gentle kiss on the side of Serenity's head, he caught her eye and silently informed her she wasn't getting away with her secret. He fully intended on finding out exactly what had happened that would cause her to pull away from both him and the babe.
Whatever it was, he had a feeling it had to do with the strange flash of fear he had gotten from her. It had been some time, and she had never spoken of it. He had tried to seek her out through their bond, but it was as if she had been blocking him. Now he understood why, by shielding his son from reaching him, Dylan had been unable to reach Serenity as easily as he now could. It unsettled him, the idea that she might have been in danger for little else could have caused the fear he had felt. His thoughts were disrupted by the arrival of a blonde haired man who was easily Robin's senior by at least a decade, maybe even two. It was a bit odd in his mind, though if taken literally, Serenity was far older than him. Not to mention in the minds of most wizards, a fledging was like a child to the sire.
Serenity couldn’t help but smile at the protectiveness that Dylan was showing over the babe already, she had to hand it to their son, not even born yet and already he had his parents wrapped around his little fingers. She could remember Robin having the same effect on her and the thought made her smile for a moment as she watched Robin greet Dylan. It was almost strange to her to see Robin here now but it gave her an odd sort of hope for the future. For two years she had watched her daughter hang onto the faint thread of life because of her foolish decisions where that hunter was concerned and yet there she stood now shaking hands with her love as if nothing had happened to her at all.
Serenity caught her own thoughts and found herself going slightly wide eyed at herself. Had she truly just thought that? Was she even capable of feeling that for another person anymore? She had honestly thought herself cold, ever since Robin’s “accident”, but perhaps her mind was trying to tell her otherwise, maybe.
Looking at Dylan for a moment she couldn’t help but enjoy the warm feeling that spread through her and she knew that it all wasn’t from the babe. Her thoughts were curbed though when she felt the small ripple of pain from Robin though. Was it truly this bad for her? Was she simply putting on a brave face? Curious and wanting to play things on the safe side, Serenity allowed her feelings of comfort to be pushed back towards her daughter hoping that it would ease things for her in some small way at least. She very much wanted Robin to be in her little brother’s life, but if the girl made her chose… well Robin was old enough to make her own choices now wasn’t she?
The thought of having to pick between her children on top of the memory of Erik pained Serenity slightly and she leaned into Dylan as he kissed her head. Having pulled away from the links she hadn’t been able to feel the fear coming from their son, but now that she had the memory under control she could feel it as if she had been slapped. She slowly met Dylan’s gaze and wordlessly agreed to tell the man what he wanted to know when the ball was over and they were alone again. It was, as she had thought when the memory hit her, not something she wanted known to present company. She shuddered for a moment finding herself thinking for only a second of just how close she had come to losing the baby, due to the rage of one man.
Quickly pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind to dwell on at a later time Serenity smiled slightly as Draco appeared behind Robin. “Ah Draco,” She said flashing him a brilliant smile, “So glad you could in fact make it.” Serenity watched at Draco pulled Robin close and a small smirk made its way onto her lips. “I was beginning to worry you hadn’t received my owl.” She added.
((Same as before, only it's Robin's post.))
Robin noted the look in Dylan’s eyes but her own held the simple message that she was willing to try to get the know to man if for no other reason then the sake of her mother and her soon to be arriving little brother. “So wonderful to finally meet you, in person that is.” Robin said quickly. “I’ve seen you about the school, but I wasn’t sure if you were who I thought you to be, even though I could sense my mother coming from you.” She explained simply. It would not seem noticeable to those that didn’t know her well enough, but Robin was truly excited about the expected little boy. She’d often wondered what it would be like to have a sibling, though the thought also worried her as well.
She knew as well as many others what had happened between Serenity and her brother Silvanus, she’d killed him. The sibling rivalry between the two of them had been legendary, the stories her great grandfather had told her were enough to make her head spin. It was also enough to make her wonder if that was normal behavior between vampire siblings as she knew her grandmother and her sister did not get along well either. She did not want to think about what may or may not happen in the future between herself and the baby so she decided to simply keep an extra close eye on him and make sure that her place in the family did not become threatened in anyway. Eyeing Dylan for a moment she couldn’t help but find herself wondering if her mother had told him about what seemed to tend to happen between siblings in their family and the she also found herself wondering if there had been a time when either her grandmother or her aunt had fought with her uncle. It was a curious thought and one she could not help but wonder why she had not had it before.
As she continued on with her thoughts she could feel the block her mother had thrown in place when her father had been mentioned and she looked at the older woman carefully. What was it she wasn’t saying? She knew it had to involve her father if Serenity didn’t want her sensing her emotions, but she also knew that it would have to be a conversation for another time. She watched the small exchange between Serenity and Dylan and raised her own brow, for a moment looking much like her mother from the action. She knew Serenity had picked up on her own slightly troubled emotions and couldn’t help but feel a bit insulted that she was still keeping things from her. Had two years of being “dead” done nothing to change the things between the two of them?
Pushing the thoughts aside Robin couldn’t help but let out a small purr as and arm was wrapped around her waist and she was pulled closer. She knew who it had been right away as she’d been looking forward to seeing him again. It was a well known fact that Robin had a weak spots for blondes and Draco Malfoy was at the top of her list. She’d had a crush on the man for sometime so when Serenity had told her that she’d asked Draco to be her escort to the Ball she had practically fainted, or at least she would have if she’d been capable of doing so. Leaning back a bit more she turned slightly so that she could get a better look at the man who now held her. “Looking handsome as always I see.” She said with a slight purr to her tone.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A smile spread over Dylan's lips as Serenity returned his gaze. The acceptance of his demand reflected back at him, instinctively tightening his grip around her in comfort. Whatever she had remembered was not a pleasant thought, but at least their son was calm again, soothed by the stream of comfort Dylan was sending the babe. It was fascinating how easy it was to learn to control the connection between them. It had taken him a long time to figure out the bond he shared with Serenity, but now manipulating it as he desired was nearly second nature. Keeping a calming touch with his son, Dylan sent protective affection to Serenity. She wasn't nearly as open about such feelings as he was, but Dylan didn't mind at all. Her gentle purrs when they were private were all he needed.
Dylan's eyes lifted to the blonde man who had joined them, recognizing him as the father of Alina and Scorpius Malfoy. A flood of awkwardness flashed through him, though his feelings did not show on his features. However, he could not keep the jolt of recognition from reaching Serenity. It felt strange to stand in the presence of a Malfoy, especially one he had heard so much about. The Malfoys were one family he had kept subtle tabs on over the decades, being that they were his closest living relatives. Dylan had never intended to meet up with any of them, but coming to school had placed the man's children in the same castle as him. It was difficult not to notice the qualities they had that reminded him of people that had long since passed away.
Tugging Serenity toward him, Dylan let his hand rest upon the gentle bump where his son lay. He could feel the subtle movements within, the bond between them pulsing with curiosity from earlier as his son reached out to him. It was difficult not to focus on Serenity and baby, especially since he felt a tad awkward before the other couple. His eyes shifted about the room, wandering over the various students that had gathered. A group by the punch bowl were beginning to get a bit out of hand, probably spiked punch at work. Other than that everything seemed to be alright, so he returned his attention to the people around him. It was probably going to take him a bit of time to get used to the idea of others knowing about his relationship with Serenity, but he was glad they could stop hiding.
