The coffee shop was littered with faces, muggles in a hurry for some frivolous appointment. Dahlia hoped her cousins wouldn’t have any trouble finding it. She had sent an owl to Hogwarts, supposing they weren’t at home for the weekend, and asked them all to meet her there. Any cousin at all would have pleased Dahlia at the moment, but she missed each and every one of them. Their smiling faces ( or rather, Cailyn and Niamh’s smiling faces. Murphy hardly smiled at Dahlia). It had been at least a couple of months since she visited them at their manor. She thought it would probably be better for them not to meet in the wizarding world too often, as the Talaith children were all muggle born. Dahlia didn't consider this selfish, she simply didn't want to get caught with anyone other purebloods.
She glanced over the menu of coffee drinks and pastries, nothing looked good. It was ridiculous how many muggles had gathered at the place since Dahlia first arrived. There was a long line extending from the counter, everyone waiting to have their everyday stint of caffeine. She spotted a few teenagers enter the door and quickly mistook them for her cousins, at that point Dahlia started to doubt they had even got her letter. Owls were so unreliable.

“Thank you, George!” Cailyn exclaimed as she popped open the door to the large black sedan before her family’s faithful driver could even put the vehicle into park. The white haired elder man barely had time to turn his head before the door slammed shut in the wake of the Talaith’s eldest daughter. Cailyn took two steps away from the car before a vicious jerk around her throat ripped the scarf from her attire and sent her stumbling backwards. Wide brown eyes whipped around to stare bewildered at the sparkling culprit, the deep purple scarf with glittering gold detail was trapped snugly in the car door. Leaping forward to free her precious scarf, Cailyn yanked the door open and shouted assurances that she was just fine to George who had started to exit the car to aid the rushing girl.
Scarf safely around her neck, Cailyn took off down the busy street as fast as her gold sandaled feet could take her. She was late, very late no thanks to construction that had blocked several streets and sent them on a long round-a-bout. Thankfully, jeans were well suited to running, though her gold chain belt with purple flowers clinked with every flying step. Her hair was swept up in a fancy ponytail, bangs held out of her face with a purple hair clip. Even her shirt was a lovely shade of purple that complimented her scarf perfectly. Reaching the coffee shop her cousin had told her of, one she actually had been to before, Cailyn bounced excitedly through the doors. Spotting her cousin, she bounded over to the older girl and practically pounced on her. “Dahlia, darling! How are you?”

Dahlia was glad to see her cousin was dressed in such tasteful clothing; purple was, after all, her favorite color. She smirked at Cailyn’s eager entrance and returned the embrace. “I’ve been wonderful Cailyn, thank you.” She stood and fixed the pleats in her skirt, sat back down and rolled her eyes at the gathering of muggles. “If you’d like I can get you a little something to eat, or a drink maybe? But I think we should get in line before this place turns into an absolute uproar.” She laughed, knowing Cailyn would understand her apathetic sense of humor. It wasn't in Dahlia's nature to consider she might be hurting anyone's feelings.
With Cailyn’s animated entrance, Dahlia had nearly forgotten that she had invited ALL of her cousins. “Did your brother and sister decide not to come?” She winked; she had always been closest to Cailyn. “I suppose I might have scared them off. It was only a matter of time.” She smirked to herself, with a smug expression on her face, Dahlia was the only one who found her jokes even slightly funny.

Cailyn giggled lightly, shaking her head at her cousin. Honestly, she just didn't understand the girl. "I am sure they are just caught up in something. You know how Murphy is, always sneaking around doing one thing or another. And Niamh, no doubt, is trailing around after him or forgot completely. That girl is so easily distracted by sandwiches its a wonder I can pry her from the kitchen at all." She joked, downplaying the seriousness of Murphy's secrets while playing up her sister's well known love for sandwiches. Niamh really did make the most amazing creations ever to be trapped between two slices of delectable bread. Of course, it was also possible that either one of her siblings were merely delayed as she herself had been. After all, Cailyn had snagged their driver all to herself.
Cailyn couldn't wait until she was of age like Murphy and would be able to preform magic at a whim. Growing up was both exciting and a bit terrifying, though her cousin didn't seem bothered at all by the world they lived in. Of course, Dahlia wasn't seen as impure as Cailyn and her siblings were. Pushing the thoughts from her head, she bounced to her feet. "One of those danishes or muffins look positively scrumptious! Oh, oh! And some coffee!" Cailyn giggled again. As if she needed more energy, ha. Grabbing Dahlia's arm, she pulled her cousin into line with her. "So how is your job going? Must be fun working at St. Mungo's. Are you planning on always working there? Or do you have some other goal in mind?" She asked curiously, her own ascent into adulthood sparking fascination with the various jobs that existed.
